"It doesn’t have to always be triple-A": Galactic Racer and Zero Company’s success has Lucasfilms wanting more smaller-scale Star Wars games

Star Wars: Galactic Racer has been fucking everywhere recently, seemingly both due to its actual quality as a game and also due to vast swathes of people falling in love with little mole guy Biddy Blas. The success of Fuse Games' Galactic Racer follows on from the similarly warm reception of Bit Reactor's XCOM-esque Star Wars Zero Company (though that success didn't prevent staff furloughs, which are at least starting to be undone in some cases), making it clear that there is a market for Star W

Games with loot boxes and other "paid random items" re-rated PEGI 16 as new rules come into force, hopefully cutting down on kids gambling somewhat

I'm strongly of the opinion that loot boxes, gacha mechanics and whatever other form of gambling remains present in games is a scourge that ought to be wiped out. Absolutely no game is better for having gacha mechanics in it, only worse. The normalisation of gambling through alternative, softer names, cool cosmetics, and in many cases, cute anime girls is honestly abhorrent. European ratings board PEGI doesn't seem keen on it either, as they've begun enacting recent rule changes bring the defaul

Justice Is Keeping The GTA 6 Hype At Arm’s Length While Making Its Soundtrack

Grand Theft Auto 6 doesn't just look visually impressive; it also has a killer sound thanks to French electronic music duo Justice. Composing the soundtrack for any game is no easy feat, but with GTA 6 generating an unprecedented amount of hype, the team of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are well aware of the expectations that have been placed on them. "Yeah, we are aware of the hype of the game, of course, and the fact that people have been waiting for such a long time," Augé said in an inte

Fortnite’s Obsession DLC Leaks, Includes A Twist On The Movie’s Iconic Line

Fortnite's spooky season content is rolling out, and that includes the character Nikki from one of 2026's biggest movies, Obsession. Inde Navarrette's character from the Curry Barker movie is coming to Fortnite on October 21. As expected, Nikki's "No, no, no!" line from the movie is coming to Fortnite as an emote, but not in the way you might expect. Instead of Nikki voicing the line, she holds out cue cards with the words on them. Check out the video below to see how the emote looks in the game

“The Suits” Made All The Money From Call Of Duty: Black Ops 1 And 2 Ports, OG Dev Says

Activision recently released ports of 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops and 2012's Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on PlayStation, and they were massive hits. According to a report, the games combined to sell more than 11 million copies on PS4 and PS5. Developer Gavin Goslin, who worked on these games at Treyarch, has reflected on the massive success of these ports and why it feels "bittersweet." Posting on LinkedIn, Goslin said it's amazing to see these games continue to perform well in 2026. It's also

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort review

One of my very favourite things to do in Switch Sports Resort isn't, technically, a sport at all. I can't get enough of Prop Plane's free-play mode, taking to the skies, and watching Wuhu Island do its thing below. Swing past the art museum or the shopping precinct and you'll see all sorts of little people milling around; take a wrong-way dive into a tunnel and here come the cars whizzing on by. Out on the water, racers whip and twirl; on the archipelago's sandiest beaches, holidayers recline in

Final Fantasy Resonance review

I think the most memorable bit of brilliance in the otherwise flawed diamond that is Final Fantasy 16 is the way it handles legacy. There are moments where Clive and his recalcitrant band of revolutionaries rage against the way of the world: they burn down cities, depose oligarchs, shatter crystals. It's a none-too-subtle rallying cry against the binding nature of tradition: a radical plea to tear down the structures of the past in order to sow the seeds of the future. Read more

GTA 6 Is 148% Ahead Of This Other Popular AAA Game So Far

GTA 6 launches in November, and everyone expects it to be a giant, record-breaking release. But just how big will the release be? Early signs are pointing to an enormous, unprecedented launch, and new data backs that up. Sensor Tower compiled preorder data for some of the biggest games released over the past six years, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022), Diablo 4 (2023), Hogwarts Legacy (2023), and Marvel's Spider-Man (2023). The analysis firm found, as reported by GI.biz, that GTA

The latest game event to fall afoul of US visa rules is a live concert for horse girl racer Umamusume: Pretty Derby

Umamusume: Pretty Derby has turned out to be one of the most popular games in the world, partly due to being a gacha game and partly due to making pretty girls out of very real Japanese racehorses (which introduces a unique mourning when the real horse passes away and the anime girl lives on). A new kind of mourning faces the Umamusume fanbase now, as an upcoming stop on the game's The Stage: World Tour at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater has been cancelled right before it was supposed to open this

GTA 6 is so detailed no single Rockstar employee knows it all - which is how we got shrinking horse testicles in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2's infamous animated horse testicles, which are realistic enough to contract in cold weather and expand again in the warmth, were apparently not a feature mandated by Rockstar. As iconic as they've become - a symbol of extraordinary detail in the game - they didn't originate from a list of features that needed to be added to the game. The horse testicles were instead the unexpected work of one person, or a group of people, autonomously working on the Cowboy epic. Read more
